Nursing informatics has provided multiple avenues for advanced practice nursing with the introduction of electronic prescribing which has enhanced safe, quick, and quality prescribing processes. This e-prescribing software with advanced features provides the user with added advantages like instant prescriptions with streamlined refill management, prescription eligibility tool, and even access to information regarding previous prescriptions from other physicians.MicroMD gathers data that medical practitioners use to calculate diverse Clinical Quality Measures (CQM) (Msmedcon, 2017).
With the integrated eligibility verification, a physician can access the prescription details of the patient, obtain prescription requests and even retrieve scheduled appointments through MicroMD EMR.
