College Application
I learned the most important lesson in my life when I sold the small start-up I founded. I was brought up in a small community where many people did not embrace hard work. I realized the need to achieve something for myself and my family. Having observed the high level of complacency that had crept in my community, I decided to become a go-getter. Fortunately, my parents raised me in an upright manner, thereby laying the foundation on which I am working to succeed in life. In today’s society, no single opportunity presents itself twice. One of the opportunities that came my way was the passion to educate members of my community on positive intelligence and its vital role in our society. To do this, I needed to initiate a project that would act as an example of the benefits of hard work.
While working on my project, I also acted as a student leader, and this situation brought about its own share of challenges. For example, I had to double as a responsible school leader and an active participant in community service. Soon, realized that I was not setting aside enough time community service despite my passion for it. In light of this challenge, I decided to develop a free website where people could enhance their levels of intelligence by answering questions about real life situations and getting instant responses. The project was success, but I did not appreciate its positive impact on the society fully until someone offered to buy it.
Selling my website was the most important event in my life. Before joining college, I had an opportunity to intern at a computer company where I learned many skills and acquired knowledge on the impact of software technology on society. It is on the basis of these skills that I stumbled upon the idea of starting a web-based business. Today, the Internet has emerged as a powerful educative tool. Using it, people can acquire information for about all aspects of life and business. I worked hard to establish networks with people who had initiated successful web-based startups. The challenges that they had experienced matched those that I experienced when I created my website. The internship experience taught me that change begins at the individual level, and the only way to succeed is to discover the hero within me. Moreover, it taught me that community service should be the primary objective while initiating an innovative business project.
Owing to these lessons, I now believe in the transformative power of investment. The internship, together with people’s experiences, taught me the vitality of trying out something and persistently following up on it until success is achieved.. Against this backdrop, the pursuit of investment remains my primary drive in my efforts to educate the members of my community about the power of positive intelligence and the need for hard work in all endeavors. I am glad that I benefited from the help of staff members at the company I was working for while initiating the startup.
Meanwhile, the most challenging part in the initiation process the ability to overcome fear. Indeed, this has been a major weakness in my life. In many situations, I should have pursued various initiatives aggressively but failed to do so for fear of criticism from those who I planned to approach for assistance. Nevertheless, I finally overcame this weakness by starting the web-based educative project.. Many people school and those from my place of internship have offered their time and support to by contributing to the project in various ways. Consequently, the business project has had far-reaching effects in the community. For example, three members of my community are employees at the startup. More importantly, the project is a major source of motivation for community members, who now appreciate the importance of working hard.
In conclusion, my life has been profoundly shaped by the power of an investment. I believe that people should invest in innovative business ideas as a way of promoting social wellbeing. This is the reason why, apart from focusing on studies, I also intend to start another web-based business in the future. I have learned that I have a duty to improve my society, and the power to do so is in my hands.
